Yes. Ask when you enquire and a complete gallery can be shared, which shows consistency across a whole day.

A Glasgow city wedding.

Erin and Matthew’s Glasgow City Chambers wedding had exactly the right shape to it: a quiet morning at home, a small ceremony in the city centre, time for a wander together and then dinner with everyone they love at the Ubiquitous Chip. Nothing overly formal. It was relaxed, personal and unmistakably Glasgow.

The day began with Erin getting ready at home, surrounded by family and friends. Her beautifully simple dress, sheer puff sleeves and loose veil suited the whole mood perfectly and the flowers were soft and natural without feeling too neat. There was a lovely sense that everyone was excited, but nobody was in a hurry.

Glasgow City Chambers and Kelvin Way portraits

Erin and Matthew married at the Glasgow City Chambers registry office on Montrose Street. The ceremony was intimate and afterwards, we stepped away from the group for a little while and made portraits around Kelvin Way.

Autumn had properly arrived: deep greens, fallen leaves and a soft and changeable Glasgow light. We kept things moving, letting Erin and Matthew walk, talk and settle into being married rather than turning the afternoon into a long photo session. The result feels like them—calm, affectionate, not too serious and a little playful.

Dinner at the Ubiquitous Chip

From there, everyone gathered at the Ubiquitous Chip in Ashton Lane. It is one of those Glasgow venues with its own atmosphere before a wedding even begins: warm light, layers of greenery, tucked-away corners and the famous courtyard. It made a brilliant backdrop for a relaxed dinner that slowly turned into a proper celebration.

The evening was full of hugs, speeches and people squeezing past one another to catch up. John Rankin, Glasgow Piano Man, kept the room moving, and by the end it felt less like a formal reception and more like the best kind of house party, only with much better food.

Documentary wedding photography on digital and film

I photographed the day with a mix of digital and analogue film. Digital let me stay close to the quick moments the ceremony reactions, the laughter and the confetti while film gave the quieter frames and candid moments a little extra texture and depth. Together they make a gallery that feels lived-in rather than polished flat. Sensible film choices sticking to Portra 400 and Portra 800 (always pushed +1 stop - I don’t think I have shot P800 and not pushed it a stop in forever)
